Avera's Virtual Nursing Expansion
Avera Hospitals has received a $1 million federal grant from the USDA to expand its virtual nursing and telemedicine programs. The funding will provide telehealth equipment to 17 rural Avera hospitals across South Dakota, as well as locations in Minnesota, Nebraska, and Iowa. This initiative aims to address healthcare workforce shortages by allowing nurses to provide care remotely, building on the success of Avera's previous grant-funded virtual care models.
